Roll & Restore
A Bodymind Ballwork/Restorative Yoga Workshop
with Kristine Whittle, LMT, E-RYT 500, YACEP
Want to Melt Away Tension and Replenish Vital Energies?
In this two hour self-care practice, we’ll roll on rubber balls to gently massage and stretch our neck, shoulders, torso, hips and legs; then relax into a sequence of Restorative Yoga postures to afford our body-mind the deep rest, quietude and healing it longs for.
Bodymind Ballwork is a bodywork system that employs rubber balls of various sizes and textures to ease tension in muscles and fascia. It can be an effective preparatory technique for yoga or other movement practices to loosen up and increase joint mobility. It is incredibly empowering in that once you learn the basics you can do it on your own at any time to relieve stiffness and pain.
Restorative Yoga is a practice of receiving- rather than doing- yoga. “The objective of each restorative pose is to surrender to gravity and compression, to sink down and find connection with the experience of limitless support…this provides the still, quiet affirmation that everything is supported, and that everything returns home. “ -Matthew Remski
The marriage of these two modalities goes well beyond a few relaxing stretches: it gives us permission to truly let go and soften into a profound experience of freedom.
Accessible to people of most any age or physical condition. Balls and Props will be provided.
Investment: $49 (includes the cost of your own set of balls to take home)
