New Moon Meditation & Intention Setting

New Moon Meditation & Intention Setting

with Ana Balzar

The new moon is the best time to plant the seeds of what you desire to manifest in your life. It is an opportunity to be intentional with how you want your Soul's desires to blossom in the next moon cycle. Planting the seeds of your desires is instrumental in the process of manifestation, so come and participate in a ritual practice to give your desires a chance to grow and bloom.

We will create a sacred ritual practice as a community, and my hope is that we can come together each month to reflect on how our seeds have grown, and how our level of attunement with the universe has increased our ability to channel the divine energy within each one of us to create what we most desire in our lives.

What you can expect: oracle cards, candles, journaling, guided meditation, body movement and connection with a community of beautiful souls.

This event is open to anyone along the gender identity spectrum and this is an LGBTQ+ friendly event.

Friday, November 17th, from 6:30-9pm.
Cost: $25 pre-registration, $30 registration on the day of.

Divine Feminine Full Moon Meditation

with Ana Balzar

The full moon is an especially powerful time to reflect on the past moon cycle, and release the things that no longer serve our souls or our lives. Each full moon meditation workshop is geared towards tuning into the power of Shakti energy through exploration, invocation and connection with the Goddesses of Yoga. The Divine Feminine is the vibratory energy of everything around us, and tuning into this powerful vibration can help us to become more intimate with these universal forces, and can help us to attract and embody these energies for transformation in our lives. It also develops our connection with ourselves, and tunes us into the vibration of everything around us in our physical world. This is a practice for happiness, healing, empowerment, creativity, and it brings us closer to experiencing our Highest Self.

What you can expect: candles, oracle cards, creativity, journaling, guided meditation, intention setting, body movement, yoga nidra, and connection with a community of beautiful souls. ::Anatomy Breakdown Series:: Part 3- Inversions

Arm balances are more than flashy ways to garner praise. If you never spend any time putting weight in your hands and your trip and break your fall with your hands, what happens to the wrist? There is a practical and functional reason to get upside down, and there are also many very fun and even philosophical reasons to do so. Let's get serious about having fun with this exploration of Inversions!

Practice and learn safe anatomical principles regarding inversions and arm balances. Learn to think critically and creatively about your practice.

This workshop is appropriate for both students and teachers alike, who wish to better understand the human body and deepen their connection to themselves and others through the common vessel which holds us all.

We will begin with a thorough and informative practice to begin to experience inversions before we get to the geeky stuff. After a much needed savasana we will spend time analyzing the sequencing, anatomy, and physiology of what we just practiced. We will then take a deep dive into the anatomy behind Inversions, and look at how to incorporate these principles into our daily movement patterns, our exercise, our practice, and our teaching.

Roll & Restore

with Kristine Whittle

Want to Melt Away Tension and Replenish Vital Energies?

In this two and a half hour self-care practice, we’ll roll on rubber balls to gently massage and stretch our neck, shoulders, torso, hips, legs and feet; then relax into a sequence of Restorative Yoga postures to afford our body-mind the deep rest, quietude and healing it longs for. We will review key exercises from the previous workshop, learn new Bodymind Ballwork techniques, and incorporate complementary Yin-inspired stretches into the practice.

kristinewhittle

Bodymind Ballwork is a bodywork system that employs rubber balls of various sizes and textures to ease tension in muscles and fascia. It can be an effective preparatory technique for yoga or other movement practices to loosen up and increase joint mobility. It is incredibly empowering in that once you learn the basics you can do it on your own at any time to relieve stiffness and pain.

The marriage of ballwork and restorative yoga goes well beyond a few relaxing stretches: it gives us permission to truly let go and soften into a profound experience of freedom. Accessible to people of most any age or physical condition.

Includes your own set of 6 balls to take home. If you have your own set of balls from the last workshop, please bring them! Your total cost will be discounted $18.

Investment: $49 (includes ball set)

Neuroscience 101 for the Yoga Teacher

Neuroscience 101 for the Yoga Teacher

with Jes Kimak

There are study after study coming out about the benefits of yoga on our brains and mental health. How do we as yoga teachers bring that back into the classroom to share with our students and how do we emphasize ways the nervous system is healing through yoga. This is a beginners lesson on the nervous system, mirror neurons, brain function and purpose and how it relates directly to our yoga students. We will break down “sciency” concepts so you will be able to walk away and have something new to teach about on Monday.

About Jessica:
Jessica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with children who have experienced traumas and helps them find a connection with their minds and body. She has been working in the field of mental health for over 8 years. She has a deep understanding and training in neuroscience but likes to make it digestible for the average individual and applicable to daily life. She brings concepts of neuroscience in all of her yoga classes and wants to teach others how to do the same and feel confident in guiding teachers to understand the inner workings of the brain and nervous system.

Prop It Up!

with Kelli Gould

Are you looking to find more freedom, space and stability in your poses? Would you like to cultivate true comfort and alignment with every pose? Would you like to get a taste of deep relaxation in your final svasana?

If you answered yes to any of these, then this workshop is for you!

Why are we so resistant to using props? Sometimes it’s ego, (If I have to use a prop to get into the pose then I must not be trying hard enough) and sometimes it’s just not knowing which prop to use. Not everyone is born flexible. Props offer alternative, accessible variations so that everyone can experience the pose true to their own body’s needs but yet we often resist the use of props, especially in Vinyasa classes.

In this workshop, Kelli Gould will encourage you to explore different, creative ways to use props to strengthen your yoga practice in a safe and fun environment.

::Anatomy Breakdown Series:: Part 2- Backbends

with Anthony Davis

In a culture of desk chairs, sofas, ottomans, benches, stools, beanbags and la-z-boys, the strength and structure of our backs is a crumbling relic. Backbends offer deep and long awaited therapy to the whole body, let's find out why.

Practice and learn safe anatomical principles regarding the posterior kinetic chain of the human body. We will explore the safety of the spine, and how to properly use not just key muscles of backbends, but a whole interdependent system.

This workshop is appropriate for both students and teachers alike, who wish to better understand the human body and deepen their connection to themselves and others through the common vessel which holds us all.

We will begin with a thorough and informative practice to integrate the experiential understanding of backbends, and after a much needed savasana we will spend time analyzing the sequencing, anatomy, and physiology of what we just practiced. Reiki I and II Training

Usui Reiki Level 1 & 2 Training

with Carissa Harris LMT, RMT
September 29-30, 2017

Everyone was born with the power to use healing energy. Take for example stubbing your toe on the couch- you immediately wrap your hands around it, as to comfort the wound, and make it feel better. Reiki is similar to this, as a Reiki practitioner I lay on hands along the head, torso and limbs sending channeled healing energy throughout the body to promote self healing.

Why Learn Reiki?
Reiki is easy to learn, anyone can do it. Once you have it, its with you for life. Most people use it to heal themselves, family, friends, pets, and clients. Reiki can be channeled for any situation, making the benefits and uses endless. Receiving Reiki is extremely relaxing, promotes a sense of peace, calm and overall wellbeing. It can help those with anxiety, insomnia, stress, pain, depression, grief, and over thinking. Brings in happiness, inspiration, joy and comfort. It also works well with conventional medicine.

Become a Level 1 & 2 Reiki Practitioner:
Embark on a two day intensive workshop to enhance your personal and spiritual development with Reiki Healing. On the first day you will learn Level I; the history of Reiki, hand positions, techniques, how to detect what areas need Reiki healing, clearing ones energy field, and hands on practice. On the second day you will learn the Level II symbols- what they are and how to use them, how to send distance healing, techniques to heal unwanted habits as well as more hands on practice through both giving and receiving! Each day will include it’s respective attunement. After the full two days you will be a Certified Level II Reiki Practitioner!

What is a Reiki attunement?
Receiving an attunement, is a simple yet sacred process. The attunement activates the Universal energy source that is Reiki, prepares you as a conduit for sending Reiki and allows its energy to flow. Once this energy is activated it is an invaluable tool for you to carry with you through the rest of your life.
Each level of Reiki (I, II, advanced and Master Teacher) has its own attunement which deepens and strengthens the Universal energy that has been activated in your Crown chakra, palm chakras and aura (energy field). The symbols learned in level II and beyond may be used for targeted purposes: such as mental/emotional healing, distance healing, abundance, creativity and “power” charged energy. As you become more connected to your Reiki practice you may experience a deeper understanding of yourself personally and spiritually.

Investment:
Level I: $125 Sept 29, 2017, 11am - 6pm
Level II: $250 Sept 30, 2017, 10am - 6pm
Stay for both: $325

Space is limited, reserve your spot with $100 deposit.
Deposit goes towards final cost. Final payment due 5 days prior to workshop.

(Deposit is 100% Refundable up to two weeks prior event
50% Refundable 6-10 days prior to event
Non-Refundable 5 days prior to event)

What To Bring:
~Your beautiful selves, open mind and open heart
~Wear comfortable clothing
~Journal and pen
~Anything warm for our outdoor moving meditation (who knows what the weather will be like)
~Lunch
~Any crystals or gemstones you would like to have charged with reiki, and with you for the attunements.

Full Moon Meditation & Intention Setting: Tuning Into the Power of the Goddesses:: Bhuvaneshwari

The full moon is an especially powerful time to reflect and set your intentions. It's the ideal opportunity to harness magical Shakti energy, and channel it towards your deepest desires and dreams. Each full moon meditation workshop is geared towards tuning into the power of Shakti energy through exploration, invocation and connection with the Goddesses of Yoga. This event is open to anyone along the gender identity spectrum and this is an LGBTQ+ friendly event.

For this full moon, we will be focusing on Bhuvaneshwari, Goddess of Infinite Space and Infinite Possibility. Her name means "she who holds the cosmos in her embrace." She is the space between everything, she is the divine void, she contains the cosmos inside of her, and transcends it. Invoking Bhuvaneshwari can help you let go of anxiety, fear, guilt, loss, and excess of thoughts: her spaciousness dissolves it and transforms it into energy or peace.  She is an ideal goddess to invoke for meditation because tuning into Bhuvaneshwariconnects you to the cosmos, to earth, and to all living things.

What you can expect: candles, oracle cards, creativity, journaling, guided meditation, intention setting, body movement, yoga nidra, and connection with a community full of beautiful souls. Come and nurture yourself, and honor and channel the Shakti energy within you.

You will receive a crystal to take home with you that will be infused with your intentions and the energy of the evening.

Full Moon Meditation & Intention Setting: Tuning Into the Power of the Goddesses:: Kali

Full Moon Meditation & Intention Setting: Tuning Into the Power of the Goddesses:: Kali

For this full moon, we will be focusing on Kali, Goddess of Revolution, Destruction and Transcendence. She is the energy of divine freedom, she is a love warrior, and she dissolves all forms into herself. Kali has the power to free you from everything that keeps you stuck. She can appear terrifying, but when we are open to her, she is the ultimate teacher of freedom. Kali is a warrior goddess and a goddess of radical rebirth. Invoking Kali will help you to awaken to your kundalini energy, it will help you overcome and transcend any limitations that keep you stuck, and she will help you tune into the strength already inside of you, purifying and strengthening the heart and offering the opportunity to let go of what no longer serves you in life.

Friday, June 9th, from 6-8:30pm.
Cost: $25 pre-registration, $30 registration on the day of.

Roll & Restore

A Bodymind Ballwork/Restorative Yoga Workshop
with Kristine Whittle, LMT, E-RYT 500, YACEP

Want to Melt Away Tension and Replenish Vital Energies?

In this two hour self-care practice, we’ll roll on rubber balls to gently massage and stretch our neck, shoulders, torso, hips and legs; then relax into a sequence of Restorative Yoga postures to afford our body-mind the deep rest, quietude and healing it longs for.

Restorative Yoga is a practice of receiving- rather than doing- yoga. “The objective of each restorative pose is to surrender to gravity and compression, to sink down and find connection with the experience of limitless support…this provides the still, quiet affirmation that everything is supported, and that everything returns home. “ -Matthew Remski

The marriage of these two modalities goes well beyond a few relaxing stretches: it gives us permission to truly let go and soften into a profound experience of freedom.

Accessible to people of most any age or physical condition. Balls and Props will be provided.

Investment: $49 (includes the cost of your own set of balls to take home)

Wall Alignment Workshop

Wall Alignment Workshop

with Kelli Gould

This fun workshop is open to anyone who would like to learn how to use the wall to explore, deepen and discover their own personal yoga alignment. Every “body” is different so there is not a “one size fits all” alignment in yoga. I will help you discover your own true alignment for a variety of poses.

This workshop is a “game changer” for beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Students will learn how to use the wall to their advantage for alignment and assists. Yoga teachers will learn to assist their students in better overall alignment to achieve maximum success in their poses.

You DO NOT need to be advanced in your yoga practice to sign up for this learning workshop! I will be breaking down some common yoga poses to show you ways to better align yourself even when you don’t have the benefit of a “wall” to assist you.

Saturday, May 6 from 3-4:30pm.

$25 pre-register, $30 day of

Testimonials:

"As a student, learning how to use the wall helped me to feel correct alignment. The first pose I learned at the wall was triangle. Using the wall helped me straighten out my back and truly feel what the pose was supposed to feel like. Over a year later, I think of it every time I move into triangle pose. And really, there is nothing better than final savasana with legs up the wall!" - Ann Dowell

"A win-win for students and teachers alike! In this fun, informative workshop, Kelli gives the students a clear understanding of proper asana form and offers helpful ways the wall might be used to guide and achieve correct alignment for each individual’s body. As a yoga teacher, I found revisiting these techniques a worthwhile refresher, while I also benefitted from learning useful, new wall techniques to incorporate in my own teaching and practice!" –Meredith Wanner
